Privacy

What this site collects, in plain words.

In short

  • No account is needed to read the site or to play in the browser.
  • The site sets no advertising cookies and shows no ads.
  • You are never asked for your name. An email address is asked for only where you choose to give one.

Page statistics

The site counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not follow you across sites. It records things like which page was opened and from what kind of device. It also counts when a form is sent (not what was in it) and, on the Play page, whether the game started loading, loaded or failed to load.

The game in your browser

  • Your progress is kept in your own browser's storage, on your device. It is not sent to us. Clearing the browser's data for this site clears your progress, and some browsers clear it by themselves after a time without a visit.
  • The game asks you its own privacy question before it shares anything about how you play. Until you answer, and unless you answer “share”, the game sends nothing about your play.
  • The browser version has no shop and takes no payment.

Feedback, surveys and messages

A report, a survey or a message from the contact page is stored in our database. With it we keep the kind of browser, system and device it came from (read from your browser, not typed), the game version if the page knew it, the page it was sent from, and a screenshot link if you gave one. They are anonymous unless you add an email address and tick the box that lets us use it; that address is used only to ask you about what you sent, and is never added to the mailing list.

The mailing list

If you subscribe, we keep your email address, the time you agreed, and which form you used, and send you one mail asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you do; after that, only launch news. Every mail has a link that takes you off the list, and the unsubscribe page takes off an address you type without asking anything else. When you leave, we keep only the address and the time you left, so that it is never mailed again unless you subscribe again.

Others who handle data for this site

  • Vercel hosts the site and the game's files, and so sees the internet address of whoever loads them. It also runs the page statistics above.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs on each form to tell people from automated senders.
  • Upstash holds a visitor's internet address for up to ten minutes, to limit how many forms one address can send.
  • Neon stores reports, surveys, messages and subscribers.
  • Resend sends the mailing list's mails: the confirmation, and later the launch news.

Asking us to remove something

Use the contact page to ask for a report, a message or an address to be removed. There is no support email address yet; when there is one, it is listed here.
